Desert Dragonflies, Brick Stitch on a Bead

One of my go-to design favorites is this technique of building a thread bridge onto a bead and brick-stitching beads around it. This step-by-step photo tutorial demonstrates the process on an 18mm dragonfly bead. I typically use a thicker beading thread, size D, or an 8lb Fireline, when working this design.

You can stitch around any bead using this same technique, including round beads, and experiment with charms and bead sizes.
