Ornaments Party!

Join Sara and I on SoftFlex YouTube and Facebook for an ornaments making party! Here’s a sneak preview of how to make the ornament and the materials :)

What You’ll Need:

26 gauge Craft Wire

Fine SoftFlex

Holiday Charms

2 x 2mm Crimps and Crimp Covers

TierraCast 1.25” Hammertone Ring

2-Hole Twin Beads

Size 11 Seed Beads

Decorative 8mm or 10mm Bead

Wire working tools, flush cutters, and a crimp tool.

Step 1 - Cut 35” of 26 gauge craft wire. Wire wrap to the 1.25mm hammertoe ring sets of 3 of the Twin beads in little rainbow loops onto the edge of the hoop. Some variation in size of hoop and spacing of the beads it totally okay.

Step 2 - Cut 20 inches of beading wire, Fine Soft Flex. Leaving a 5” tail, run the strand through the first Twin bead (top, open hole). String a size 11 seed bead and go through the next Twin bead. String another size 11 seed beads and go though the next two Twin beads. Repeat this step around.

Step 3 - Bring the beading wire’s short end in front of the component and the long end behind. String the charm onto the long end so it suspends inside the hoop. Bring the strands up to meet above the hoop and slide on a crimp tube, a decorative bead (8mm or 10mm), and a crimp tube. Bring the long strand back through the top crimp, form a loop, then compress the crimp. Trim excess beading wire. Optionally cover the top and bottom crimp with a crimp cover.

Note: Bottom crimp is left uncompressed.
