Beaded Rosettes
NEW! These earrings were featured by John Bead Corp in Bead and Button Magazine! Here is a link to the article and the Step-by-Step, downloadable tutorial.
These earrings are inspired by Traditional Native Beadwork, Beaded Rosettes. I learned the technique that I think is the quickest for making each of the circles by watching a video by Kristen Sally, where she stitches an intricate, patterned rosette. These earrings were my learning, and I think you can see improvement between earrings 1 and 2.
To finish the rosette, I followed this tutorial from Artbeads, showing how to brick stitch beads onto the side of two layers. In my case, I simply used another layer of my beading felt.
For the beads I have used, which are Terra Intensive Czech Glass, the felt, Good Felt by John Bead, and the thread I am using, please visit these links to my Etsy Shop.
Here are the in process photos I took while creating! The ring counts are noted in the photo captions.
